Pyewacket Kazyanenko. Outline and intent for Yoshikaze Residency
In my exploration with the Yoshikaze residency I hope to further my relationship with the 'glitch' in virtual worlds. The genera of digital glitch art has become quite popular but little has been explored in virtual worlds. I will enter the space with an empty pallet , clear mind and simply explore ,try and make happen the wrong, the glitch and the obscure, mixed with ongoing adventures and inspirations that happen daily inworld.
My research into avatar psychology and the notion of 'artistic role play' will also have some effect on what I will be doing. This brings the digital unconscious into the work with dreams, desires, needs , failures ,a sense of humour and a longing for creativity.
Pyewacket was born and made an independent artist in her own right, making art, performance and getting articles in art magazines. The process of the creation of an online artistic personality is well under way .One day I hope to break Pye from the strings of the human puppet master and go AI altogether. This interest in the avatar as independent entity , or robotic artist ,will also play a part in the art I will be exploring. I hope to reveal a story about the life and times of a cyborg. It'll be a hacking and deconstructing of my virtual life as an avatar. I hope to present short experimental machinimas (with red/blue glasses provided), photographs, a possible live performance, and a 3d environment as documentation to the residency.
