Pyewacket Kazyanenko - Amsterdam TV

This is a video of a live presentation on Amsterdam TV using some of of techniques i discovered while  at Humlab. The medium is still very young, the technology clumsy & the virtual world cartoon like, but we push on into new territory. (performance starts at 4.05)

Pyewacket Kazyanenko - making work

Gosh , a month has passed and I haven't posted anything. I got caught up in a project with playing virtual instruments in Second life and then being  broadcast live on Amsterdam TV. Exciting and groundbreaking work, but time consuming in preparation . Youtube video here:http://youtu.be/y8MfqOTLH34. Ive still been visiting the Humlab site and playing with stage backdrops and Avatar animations:

Pyewacket Kazyenenko - The Futurist

Ive been thinking  about this article: http://tinyurl.com/78swwxr and what this
means for artful experimentation. Will my work, infused with a greater intelligence than myself, come alive and question my motives? Virtual worlds are good  prompts futurist speculation.

Pyewacket Kazyanenko - Ideas are skeletons

Experiments continue but theres nothing to extensively document. Working in this medium can create 1001 ideas but only a few are fleshed out. Here Pyewacket & Jo Ellsmere try different avatars for performance.

Pyewacket Kazyanenko - More Glitch dub experiments

I import www sites into Second life and play the instruments. The lag in SL generates glitches in the music.

Pyewacket Kazyanenko - making glitch dub

I am excited by this experiment as I haven't seen it been done before. Using second life as a center hub for Internet music making machines. When sounds are mixed glitches occur. Unfortunately the 'shared' media is only local, meaning other avatars in the space have to use the machines themselves, not hearing what i play, but it would be great for RL performance. (i also use a 'giant' avatar for filming in a seemingly small space)
